Melanie Engel is the Founder, Owner, and Principal Broker of Flamingo Beach Realty, bringing more than 30 years of business experience and nearly a decade of expertise in Costa Rica real estate. After relocating from Canada to Playa Flamingo with her family in 2014, she founded Flamingo Beach Realty in 2016 and has helped hundreds of buyers, sellers, and investors navigate the Guanacaste property market. Holding an MBA and having personally built her family’s home in Playa Flamingo, Melanie offers firsthand knowledge of property ownership, construction, and daily life in Costa Rica. Her deep understanding of communities such as Playa Flamingo, Tamarindo, Reserva Conchal, and the surrounding Gold Coast allows her to provide trusted guidance backed by local expertise, honest communication, and personalized service.
Since relocating from Canada to Playa Flamingo in 2014, Melanie has built a brokerage defined by results, discretion, and global reach. Under her leadership, Flamingo Beach Realty has facilitated more than $770 million in closed sales, including some of the most significant beachfront and ocean-view transactions in the area. Her portfolio spans legacy estates, resort-style villas, investment condominiums, development land, and income-producing hospitality assets.
Melanie holds an MBA and brings more than three decades of executive-level business experience to every negotiation. Clients value her strategic pricing guidance, data-driven market insight, and disciplined deal management, particularly in complex cross-border transactions. Her approach is structured, proactive, and focused on maximizing net results while protecting her clients’ time and privacy.
A full-time resident and property owner in both Playa Flamingo and Reserva Conchal, Melanie offers firsthand knowledge of ownership, construction, rentals, and community dynamics. This lived experience allows her to advise clients not only on acquisition and disposition, but on long-term portfolio strategy and lifestyle integration.
