Renting in Guanacaste: FAQ
Yes. We list vacation rentals and long-term rentals across Guanacaste. If you do not see what you need on this page, tell us your dates, area and budget and we will search for you.
Most long-term rentals here are furnished and leased for about 12 months, with a security deposit of one month’s rent. Tenants usually pay electricity, water and internet. What is included, and whether pets are allowed, varies by property, so check each listing or ask us.
Yes. Property management is handled through Ben Engel’s company, Slice of Paradise CR, and we also work with other property management companies in the area, so we can match your property with the right manager. Management typically covers bookings and guest communication, cleaning, maintenance, pool and garden care, bill payment and owner reporting.
Yes. Owners who rent for short stays must register the property with the Costa Rican Tourism Board (ICT) under the country’s short-term rental law, and rental income is taxed. A property manager or accountant can handle the registration and filings for you.
